8:35a.m. | The alarm clock continues ringing. |
8:40a.m. | Mother's shouting. Time for Spanish and Swedish culture to get up. Time to go together through a brand new day. |
9:07a.m. | Everybody's in the class. Sleepy faces. Tired eyes. Horrible aspect. |
9:15a.m. | Let's begin Catalan class! |
9:30a.m. | Who said learning languages was easy? After a brief introduction to historical aspects of Catalonia's official language... it's Swedish's time to demonstrate their habilities with this language... |
9:31a.m. |
Throw a small ball to one of your Swedish mates and ask him or her a question, he or she will answer it. The point: questions and answers must be done in Catalan. |
9:32a.m. | Sweat drops are falling through Swedish's foreheads. Praying: Oh God! Please push the ball aside of my way!! |
10:10a.m. |
The Catalan's class is over. It has been really successful. Swedish boys and girls (and even teachers) have learned to speak simple sentences which can be basic for a general communication. A fact.: Catalan has already become an international language!! An expectation: Patenting the method! |
| WHAT ABOUT... |
| THE THEATRE WOKSHOP? |
| We offered the Swedish boys and girls a main introduction to the biography and main works of Federico García Lorca, one of the most important writers and factors to understand the Spanish first half of this Century. Although the Swedish mates seemed to be very interested in this narration about Lorca's life, it had nothing to do with how amused they got with the interpretation of a short part of the play. |
| Some of the persons who took part on the play 'Bodas de Sangre', which was performed in the school in 1998's edition of Sant Jordi, selected the parts which could be more enjoyable. Finally, we can say proudly that the Spanish dramathic art was accepted warmly by the Sweedish after a nice interpretation of the kind of comical beginning and the final tragedy. |
